Eragon Movie

Postby rowan7 » Sun Dec 17, 2006 5:08 pm

I saw it yesterday, and it was really bad. They were missing major characters (Katrina, Solembum, Jeod, Orik, Hrothgar). And Brom killed one of the Ra'zac.

Ive been hearing bad reviews about this movie. Im not sure if ill bother to go and see it now. Sad

I really hope it doesn't flop though. Its in the same genre as the Artemis Fowl movie really, and may give the producers of AF even more reason to wait... Sad

I don't even think I'll bother watching it either. The book isn't really the best and be watching the trailer, I can already see that both Eragon and Arya have different appearances from when described in the book.

If even some of the major characters were missed out then *shakes head*, I think I'll go see Stranger than Fiction or some other movie.

Yes! Yes! Yesyesyes! Please do go see Stranger than Fiction. It is much more deserving of your $5.00 movie ticket than Eragon. *nodnod*

I was thinking that I might go see Eragon, I'd hoped maybe the movie would be an improvement on the book... But I suppose no movie could ever make up for the crappiness of the book, no matter how good it was. I think I shall go see Stranger Than Fiction again, when finals are over, instead of watching Eragon. XD

Meh. It was okay. I wasn't a huge fan of the books, and the movie was even worse. Rolling Eyes
Let me just say, though, that Saphira was adorable as a baby. Laughing

i've seen the movie twice. not that it was good, mind you, it's just that my brother took me to see it, and then the second time was when my friend's date was postponed, so i told her we could go see it together in compensation for her loss.
she cried. Crying or Very sad
i didn't. Rolling Eyes
but it was okay, other that missing the main people like rowan said.
and i concur with ihdreniel about saphira...so cute!!! Very Happy
but i wouldn't want to see it again. Mad
Twirling in a revelry of falling raindrops,
These crystal jewels slide down my skin,
But I am not content to let these children of the sky
Waste their existence riding on my flesh,
So I tilt my head back
And open my mouth
And let them in.~3-29-07

This is the summary in the words of me and my friends:

Durza was emo (come on, black painted nails?), Brom was cool (how can that guy deal with Eragon?), Murtagh was hott (he made the movie worthwhile), Sapphira was badly animated (and quite annoying) and Eragon was the village idiot (come on he is a sissy. He FROLICKED through a field of BUTTERCUPS!!! I mean seriously, folks, how can a guy who frolics though flowers save the world?)

I saw it and was so disappointed. Arya was so nice! But yes, Saphira made the whole movie near worth while. But the time passage was horrible. It jumped about too much. If you haven't read the books it was very confusing, and even if you have it was.

Hee. Great summary! Laughing I can see where you're going with the whole 'Saphira is annoying' thing, though... I hated her voice- she sounded like she belonged in a Disney movie. Rolling Eyes

The book made me cringe - I don't plan to see the movie, unless I'm forced too...

I don't actually want to see the movie, especially after the bad character choices, but the book was not as bad as some of you said.
