I finally watched InkHeart last week! XD I thought it was pretty good even though it didn't follow the book closely. But it wasn't terrible, so I enjoyed it. ^.^

I know who's playing Meggie now.
It's a girl called Eliza Bennett

I happen to know her. She goes to my cousins church and I've met her a few times. She's really nice, too, not just pretty. =) She's been in a few other things too, like Nanny McPhee...

Ugh!This was a huge disappointment. The only things I liked about it were Paul Bettany as Dustfinger, Helen Mirren as Eleanor, and the guy who played Farid (can't remember his name). Other than thought I thought the casting was poor.

Yeah, I quite liked Fenoglio too (Jim Broadbent, I think?)

Meggie was a good visual reference to the book, but either she's not the best actor or the script was poor.

The thing that bugged me the most was that in the book it describes the way Moe and Meggie read aloud as being magical. Both Brendan Fraser and Eliza Bennett have very bland reading voices.

Yeah, it's all about two people who can't actually read that well. Oh, the irony....

The biggest irony is that Cornelia Funke actually based the character of Moe off of Brendan Fraser as she knows him personally, and yet it was a role he should not have taken.

I don't know....David Tennant? Seriously. He could have totally have pulled it off! Plus, I've heard him read and he has an incredible voice!

I felt that way for a while too, until I saw him in Hamlet. Boy, that guy can act!

To be perfectly honest, I would have preferred if Inkheart had been a German production rather than an American/British one...

I personally found the casting extremely good - probably because I watched the movie before I read the books. That way I had the actors in my head while I was reading, and so it worked perfectly for me lol Although they kind of morphed into my own characters as they went. And some characters I had to picture all on my own because they weren't in the movie (i.e. Orpheus, the Adderhead, Violante)
I LOOOOOOOOOVE Dustfinger! :D (Bettany was THE perfect choice lol) And so was Farid. It was their relationship in the movie that made me want to get the books. I knew that a lot of times (LotR, for instance), they would play down really awesome friendships in movies for some strange reason. I was NOT disappointed!! :D
