The Iron Giant or the non-existing AF movie. It's a close one.

If you haven't heard about Iron Giant, it's a lot like Big Hero 6; bittersweet ending with a robot friend.

EXTREME
Spoiler:
The Iron Giant dies, just like Baymax! (not sure if I spelled that right)

The Iron Giant is one of my favourite animated pictures :3 I mean, one of the lead protagonists is literally a metal box and still remains one of the cutest characters ever. Baymax was funny and cute too, but the rest of the Big Hero 6 movie was a bit too over the top for me. The Iron Giant has a great plot, and actually it reminds me more of Chappie, the latest movie from District 9 director Neil Blomkamp. The two robots are very alike in their evolution and personality, and differ only from the universe they're put in.

Reply to the extreme
Spoiler:
But the Iron Giant doesn't die ! He's indestructible. So does Baymax by the way. Or did you just meant the two movies ended similarly, with the two robots apparently dying but then at the very end came back ?

In response to La Souris Bleue:
Spoiler:
Yes, I guess that's what's intended. It's hard for a robot to die, and robots can always be rebuilt/recreated.

I usually watch the movie versions of books (after reading the books). So far my favourites are, in order:

1. Ender's Game
2. Holes
3. The Tale of Despereaux
4. Catching Fire

Not all of them stick closely to the book, but the spirit is there nonetheless.
I said you were smart, Mud Boy. I was wrong; are exceptional.—Qwan
Which do you think seems more suspicious? An alien-looking craft hovering in the yard of a country home, or a floating doorway with a centaur standing in it?—Domovoi Butler
We can only change the future, not the past or present.—Artemis Fowl II
I'm trying to care, Artemis. But I thought it was all supposed to be over when the fat lady sings. Well, she's singing, but it doesn't appear to be over.—Holly Short

I've changed to Rise of the Guardians and the Attack on Titan movie when it comes out. (I haven't seen the Kuroshitsuji movie.)
