I loved Final Destination (1, 2, and 3.) I suppose you could sort of say it's psychological...it certainly made me think more about the evanescence of life. [/calvinandhobbes] Razz

The Ring was corny but good. Very Happy

And watch anything by M. Night Shyamalan, because he's Indian his movies are amazing! The Sixth Sense wasn't in the least bit scary, but it was a pretty good movie...I don't remember the titles of the others, though. Razz

Cristina: Oh. Oh, now we're on again 'cause the mood suits you? Because I'm the sad little girl with no friends and I tripped your savior complex into action? Usually I can deal with the hot and cold thing, but not today. Just leave me the hell alone.

M. Night directed 'Signs' right?

It was an OK movie i think.

But the only part i really liked was
Spoiler:
when that alien appeared out of no where in that video in the news...

Sings was a great movie. I did not find 23 or Psycho to be that scary. The only movie that has ever scared me till now is 1408. Its a new film and its pretty good.

Though I haven't seen it, Disturbia is classified and described more as a thriller than a "scary" movie. *shrugs*

Oh no! don't watch The Shining. I didn't think it was scary at all.

Skeleton Key...it rings a bell. Is it based on a book? Either that or I wanted to see it.

Quite a few new films seem to have good story lines, well from the trailers but..you can't always trust them.

I want to see 1408, but I'm not sure.

Apparently watching films in the original[?] language like The Ring is sarier because you don't understand it or something.

And because the original Japanese versions have a lot more gore/blood, and are generally scarier. The American versions are PG-13, while the Japanese ones...aren't. XD Though I have yet to see them. *grumbles*

The American Ring had all that rubbish about the horses- I've not watched the Japanese ring in ages but I know they had a really good part thing there but it was...disturbing.

The American Ring went out of it's way to make things 'scary' and failed quite badly. Like they took the faces and mashed them up when in the Japanese one the people just look really scared. The Japanese one is just..better

No, they don't. The Japanese movies play with less in-your-face stuff like sound and angling to convey an eerie atmosphere. I hated the original Ring, it kind of changed my life, 'cause I gave all scary movies a wide berth after that.

Hmm, I must be confusing this with The Grudge, then...I know Ju-On: The Grudge was fairly bloody....
