Most favorite books?

the LotR-series! /o/
Also, I love Dorian Gray to death. ~<3 It's my favorite book. I also enjoy the Reader from Bernhard Schlink, as I find Animal Farm by George Owell very intriguing. Besides that, I love The Hunchback of Notre Dame. ~<3 So beautiful, so sad.

Ah, this might take a while! There' s no way I could list these in order, so here're a handful of my favorites...

The Princess Bride by William Goldman (this is my favorite book of ALL time)
The Book Thief and I Am the Messenger by Markus Zusak
His Dark Materials trilogy by Philip Pullman
The Wednesday Tales trilogy by Jon Berkeley
The Complete Sherlock Holmes, Volumes 1 and 2 by Sir Arthur Conan Doyle
Farenheight 451 by Ray Bradbury
Anansi Boys, Neverwhere, Stardust, American Gods, The Graveyard Book, Coraline, Smoke and Mirrors, Fragile Things, all by Neil Gaiman
Anything by William Shakespeare, but favorites include Hamlet, The Tempest, Romeo and Juliet, and Twelfth Night.
Fool on the Hill by Matt Ruff
Fight Club by Chuck Palanhuik
Abarat series by Clive Barker--by far the most imaginative thing I've ever come across, EVER. Blew my mind.
The Maltese Falcon by Dashiell Hammet
Grimm's Complete Fairy Tales by Jacob and Wilhelm Grimm
The Hobbit and The Lord of the Rings (1,2, and 3) by J.R.R. Tolkein
The Chronicles of Narnia by C.S. Lewis--all are brilliant, but my favorites are The Lion, The Witch and the Wardrobe, The Magician's Nephew, and most of all The Voyage of the Dawn Treader

There are a TON more that I haven't listed, but those are the first handful that come to mind...

How could I forget The Princess Bride? *self, why did you forget that?* *self-er...sorry...won't happen again...*

I love the Neil Gaiman ones as well, I think my favourite out of those has to be The Graveyard Book.

I didn't know Markus Zusak had another one out - I'll have to get it from the library, 'cos I loved Book Thief.

I love Sherlock Holmes and LOTR, too.

Some of the Star Wars books are awesome too - some aren't - but my favourites are Outcast, Wild Space, and The Rising Force.
Thankyou for my avvie, Rain! I luv it!!!

I actually loved, loved LOVED I Am The Messenger--even more than The Book Thief. Markus Zusak is a brilliant writer and it's my second favorite book ever. I loved every word. If anyone ever needed a purpose in life, or inspiration, or a reason to keep living, then they should READ THAT BOOK.

But I can't believe I forgot To Kill A Mockingbird. I'm obsessed with that book. How did I leave that one off my list???

Ranger's Apprentice Book One: The Ruins of Gorlan
Ranger's Apprentice Book Two: The Burning Bridge
Ranger's Apprentice Book Three: The Icebound Land
Ranger's Apprentice Book Four: The Oakleaf Bearers/The Battle for Skandia
(title depends on location)
Ranger's Apprentice Book Five: The Sorcerer of the North
Ranger's Apprentice Book Six: The Seige of Macindaw
Ranger's Apprentice Book Seven: Erak's Ransom
(which I have yet to read but I know will be amazing)
Ranger's Apprentice Book Eight: The Kings of Clonmel
Ranger's Apprentice Book Nine: Halt's Peril
Ranger's Apprentice Book Ten: The Emperor of Nihon-Jin
(not yet released, even in Australia)

As you can tell, I like - no, LOVE - the Ranger's Apprentice books. I'm addicted. And while I wait for the next to come out, I think I'm going to go into Ranger withdrawal.

Gosh. I read so much... um. Anything by Dean Koontz or Charles Martin. The Maximum Ride series. The Magic of Xanth series. I really enjoyed what I've read of Les Miserables and would like to finish it. All 1400 pages. I really enjoyed the Princess Diaries. I still love the Dear America series. xD I really like the Tales of the Otori series too, although they're kind of hard to find around here and I'm missing one or two. I like The Series of Unfortunate Events back when it wasn't so confusing.

And those are just the series. Don't get me started on single books
The Gospel According to Larry by Janet Tashjian
Behind the Attic Wall by Sylvia Cassedy
Catherine Called Birdy Karen Cushman
Ella Enchanted (and another book by Gail Carlson Levine, The Two Princesses of Bamarre)
Esperanza Rising by Pam Munoz Ryan
Walk Two Moons (and several others by Sharon Creech, like Bloomability)
Where the Lillies Bloom by Vera and Bill Cleaver
Gingerbread by Rachel Cohn
P.S. Longer Letter Later (and its sequel, Snail Mail No More) by Paula Danziger and Ann M. Martin

A lot of these are books I read when I was in elementary. Children's books. But they are all so good, I still enjoy reading them. Children's books are so much better than books for teens these days. I find myself finding better books in the kids section than in the teen section at the bookstore.

Artemis Fowl is definately not anywhere near my favourite books, and Harry Potter is quite low down. But that put aside.

At the moment I'm reading lots of Neil Gaiman's books; I adored Neverwhere and Stardust, and once I got into American Gods I really enjoyed it. I love Tracy Chevalier's books, though I like some more than others. The Lovely Bones and The Time Traveller's Wife were my favourite discoveries of 2009. I've read Memoirs of a Geisha several times.
I also used to love "Tales of the Otori", starting with "Across the Nightingale Floor" by Lian Hearn. I may re-read those. The Sabriel series by Garth Nix and probably the Northern Lights.
I'd say I covered them pretty well there.

EDIT: OH, and I forgot my favourite book ever, can't believe myself. Pride and Prejudice by Jane Austen <3

I've just realised I forgot one of my all-time favourite series: The Worlds of Chrestomanci! I've loved those books for so long...

And also a relatively new favourite - Sherlock Holmes.
Thankyou for my avvie, Rain! I luv it!!!
