Maximum Ride series (all 6) by James Patterson
When The Wind Blows and The Lake House by James Patterson
Deception Point by Dan Brown
Lord of the Rings and The Hobbit by J.R.R. Tolkien
Some Star Wars books like The Courtship of Princess Leia by Dan Wolverton

I can't think of anymore that are my favorites, but I have a lot that I really want to read

I'm not a big fan of the series' set just post-RotJ, but I love the Legacy of the Force and Fate of the Jedi series. I read those avidly as they come out.

I like reading the ones post-ROTJ, cause I like Luke, Han, and Leia better than the Old Republic people. There's less political stuff, that's why I like the old movies better, and plus, there's more romance.

I need to add 2 things.
The Name of the Wind (The Kingkiller Chronicle) by Patrick Rothfuss
And The Dresden Files series by Jim Butcher.

Both incredible book series my grandfather introduced me to.
Plus The Kingkiller Chronicle is just an awesome name.

You couldn't give me a bit of back info on the Dresdan Files could you? My tastes seem to be pretty similar to yours so maybe I'd like it as well.

The bare basics of the plot is that a) magic is real and b)Harry Dresden is a professional wizard in modern day Chicago who does private investigation work and also helps the Special Investigations Unit of the Chicago PD. Of course, that is just the bare minimum. This is the wikipedia article. BEWARE OF SPOILERS.

my favorite series of Books is the Dirk Pitt series by Clive Cussler. they are awesome. plus Gerginio (how do you spell his name? :S ) is a very funny character. i also like the other ones by him with Kurt Austin and Julian Caballero (i know that's not how you spell his name)

yay! go Clive Cussler!

Luna, I disagree-- Gaiman's books are FULL of magic. Have you ever read Stardust? Coraline? Anansi Boys? American Gods? He even wrote a comic book series called "The Books of Magic". I'd be hard pressed to find one that DIDN'T deal with magic in some aspect.

My favorite book in the world is The Princess Bride by William Goldman.

POTC? I'm feeling slow today.

EDIT: About 5 seconds after posting this I worked out it was Pirates Of The Caribbean. Sorry. Today is not my day.

I remember when I first came on the computer (and we're talking several years ago now), and there were all these abbrviations WUU2, gtg, brb, kthxbai (simple once you know, but just staring at it with no clue makes it look foreign) and I was so confused. At last I found a sympathetic friend who told all. And now if I come across anything familiar I google it, or work it out.

I'm actually happy I'm not the only one whith that issue.
Anyway, (which I completly forgot to put as one of my favorite books) I love to read Jodi Picoult books. They're crazy good and very unpredictable.

The Vampire Academy series. (No, don't cringe, don't let Twilight prevent you from reading an awesome book)
It's really good!!

Also, Percy Jackson and The Olympians is pretty awesome......I'll think of more later.

Spoiler:
'I must go,Butler,' said Artemis firmly.'My mind is eating me alive.I think the guilt is the main problem.I must do whatever I can to atone.'
'And?' said Butler,unconvinced.
Artemis held his arms out so that Foaly could drape the suit sleeves over them.
'And I will not be beaten by that jackass.'
'Jackass?'said Foaly,wounded.‘My favourite uncle is a jackass.'

Spoiler:
If asked in class what the Avada Kedavra curse does, yelling "It does DEATH!" may be correct but is not the manner in which one should answer.
The proper way to report to Professor McGonagall is "You wanted to see me, Professor?" Not "I have it on good authority that you have no evidence."
I will not tell the Ravenclaws that they're basically useless because Hogwarts' smartest student is in another house.
I will not conjure up lemons and say-Life hath given thou LEMONS!
