Which ones did you try? They vary wildly. My advice is to start in the middle. Sounds weird, I know, but it's easy to pick up on what happened in earlier books, and I find that the later books are much better.
Thankyou for my avvie, Rain! I luv it!!!

Do not let the Cat out. No matter what I tell you. :shiny:

My favourite authors are Juliet Marillier, Jacqueline Carey, Philippa Gregory and Isobelle Carmody. Though I loved Eoin Colfer's stuff years ago, I guess I've sort of grown out of it. Like Emily Rodda and Lemony Snicket. But they'll always be a part of my childhood <3.

Terry Pratchett is utterly brilliant, but thanks in part to nostalgia, I'd have to put Diana Wynne Jones as my favorite.

I would have to say.... Jodi Picoult. I love her writing. It's so awesome. She wrote My Sister's Keeper(Don't watch the movie, it ruins the book) which is a very good book, with a sad, unexpecting ending. All the books that I read from her are page turners(they're sooo hard to put down) and they have an ending that you won't even expect. I love her books!

Uhh hmm tough one XD..
My favourite authors are probably:
1) Anthony Horowitz - Alex Rider, Power of 5 etc
2) Eion Colfer - Artemis Fowl
3) Heather Brewer - Vladimir Tod
4) Who ever wrote Percy Jackson (XD)
5) Christopher Paloni - The Inheritence Cycle (eragon)
Not really in that order but those are probably my top 5. I have wayyy more but I'll leave it at that XD
We all have a dark side...

Spoiler:
That awkward moment when someone says "hi" to you, and you reply with "I'm good"... -_-

That shite moment in an argument when you realise you are wrong...

That awesome moment when the teacher asks you a question, thinking you weren't being attentive. Then you answer it right, it's like "What now! WIN!!!"

That depressing moment when your mum scribbles on the award your school gave you in congratulations for all your hard work, just to get her stupid pen to work D':

But you love me XD

O.K.! Long list time!
Spoiler:
Eoin Colfer (Duh. That's why I'm here.)
Tamora Pierce (I've read practically every book she wrote that's been published.)
Rick Riordan (Percy Jackson and the Olympians has the unfortunate side effect of making your face stuck in a smile.)
Anthony Horowitz (Only read Alex Rider, one through eight. I'm too chicken to try other books he wrote.)
James Patterson (for the Maximum Ride series)
Joanne Kathleen Rowling (Was a major fan of HP for two years.)
Nancy Springer (Enola Holmes! AWESOME!)
Christopher Paolini (Inheritance Cycle. *nods*)
Jonathan Stroud (Bartimaeus Triology and the Ring of Solomon! Ring of Solomon's better than the main triology.)

I'm sure there's more than that but I'm too lazy to consult list.
When I'm stressed, I laugh. When I'm happy, I laugh. When I'm nervous, I laugh. If I find something funny, I can't stop laughing.

If you find any poisonous plants in your tea, just to let you know, it wasn't me.

Don't pop my bubbles. I'll get depressed.
