EC's Best Creation...

Postby Matt » Sat Apr 14, 2007 5:48 pm

Who is Eoin Colfer's best created protagonist...?

I think Fletcher Moon is EC's best creation. He's something a lot of kids can relate to... as the majority of children have wanted to become spies and similar things.

What do you think?

I voted for Artemis simply because he's a great character although unlike Fletcher, most (just in case there is a boy criminal mastermind out there who read Artemis Fowl) kids can't really relate to him.
Actually now that I think about it it's quite hard to choose...
actually my personal favourite of the all main characters that EC has written probably is Stefan Bashkir in The Supernaturalist. Except he's not really the protaganist, although it could be argued that in the story he is just as pivotal a character as Cosmo. And he's not in the poll so...

I voted for Artemis because even though we can relate more to Fletcher Moon, but let's face it there have been many other protagonists created very similar to him. Artemis is unique, and the concept of an evil ( not true, but that's the image you get when you start reading the first book) twelve year old genius is very original.

Tough, Meg Finn and Artemis are unique, I mean, how many protagonnists die 50 pages into the book. Fletcher is the most human of them all, but I vote Artemis.

I don't know about Fletcher Moon since I haven't read those books yet (gasp!) but out of the remaining three, I choose Artemis. He's the most unique in personality, as well as having the most unique companions throughout his respective series. Besides, he's the one to whom I can most easily relate, despite not being evil myself. XD

Definitely Artemis. He is one of the most unique characters in general not just out of EC's work. He was very refreshing and an intriguing creation. Smile

Definitely Artemis. I like how he's so perfect and yet so flawed XD. And like XOLEPsFirstOX said, the idea of the first book was very original although I would've prefered Artemis remaning evil

I voted cosmo, well mainly because i know theres enough voting artemis without my vote. and cosmo is pretty cool, just a good more real version of artemis. I hope colfer wrties a sequal for supernaturalist.

I voted for Artemis, but Cosmo came close behind. The supernaturalist was a great book, and I actually think I'd be happier if they made a movie of this book instead of AF. Aqua Shocked 2
