I dunno - I started on TOD, it was the one we had at home, and then I worked in a random order, sort of TOD, TAI, AF1, and then TEC. I was just in time to read TLC and TTP in chronological order as they came out. So I can't really say if I was expecting a sequel...if I had read it in order, I probably would have done, because Holly says something along the lines of being ready to face him next time.
At the end of Airman, you
Spoiler:
don't see Bonvilain's body, you just see him fall off the battlements, so we can't be sure he's dead.

I think EC usually leaves his books kind of open, so if he wants to write a sequel, there's room for one.
Thankyou for my avvie, Rain! I luv it!!!

Do not let the Cat out. No matter what I tell you. :shiny:

Never say that! Never! Run before you walk! Fly before you crawl! Keep moving forward! Because if we fail, I'd rather fail really hugely. All or nothing!

I think EC could do a good job writing an Airman sequel. In fact, I'm kinda hoping he will.

Me too - it'd be cool if Conor maybe had to leave the Saltee Islands. That way he's nice and far from help - yeah, I just like to have my characters working completely on their own, it just seems more interesting to me  . Plus he could have an ace adventure, like maybe if his plane crashed MILES away and he had to repair it and get it back. Obviously, he'd have to do this whilst fighting people trying to kill him. That'd be brilliant!

Me too.. Airman was certainly a great book. :) I read it a month or two ago and was impressed immensely by the well-written storyline.

The first time I read it, afterwards I was like "This was written by the same guy who wrote Artemis Fowl!?" The writing style just seemed so different, but not in a bad way.

Yeah, I know.
did you know they might not be doing live action for the AF movie?!?!
Ask anyone who knows me; if you mess up a movie that was based on a book and I've seen & and read them, I get SOO worked up!! ...trust me on that one...

Yupyup!!!
I haven't met many people who are like that though... even in my book-crazy fam no one gets worked up about it.
Grr.
Anywho... (I have a book site... if you want to talk further on the matter, click the link to it in my siggie. No one but a real-life friend has joined yet.)

I just joined.

Back-on topic: Airman is a great book. If they do make a movie of it, it needs to be live action and done right!

Definitely. And we don't need those nude/romance scenes that everyone is so fond of inserting into movies, either. *shudders* If Colfer had wanted it to be a romance story, he would have written it that way.

Frond, it annoys me so much when directors/producers do that! I just think, 'Hey! You're doing this film, because people liked the book! So why are you CHANGING it? People LIKED it!'
Yeah. I get a bit worked up.
Airman should defo be live-action. No doubt about it. It's a serious historical fantasy, and it needs treating like one. Besides (spoiler to events)

Spoiler:
you can't kill Victor in 3D animation. That would be heartless!

Seriously! The readers made it popular in the first place!! I guess they assume that nonreaders will watch the movies and don't like anything without romance.. You know someday some alien research ship is going to come along and be like "This planet it is interesting! Look at the variety of life! The society is..weird. They're obsessed with the reproduction process for some reason. This'll be an easy one to take!" 8)

How much of it is historical? :-k And why couldn't you do what you referenced in the spoiler?
