I did once...no. It just doesn't work. They can't really do blood, so they give it a go, and Frond, does it not work, so they take it out and the character appears to take an arrow in the chest and die without blood. It just doesn't work.
You can't have an animated round-faced
Spoiler:
Victor dying
without blood. It would just not have the heart-jerking sadness and emotion it needs - I cried so much reading that scene! If they did it, it'd have to be all sharp angles like Clone Wars in 2008. And let's face it (well, I have to face it anyway), it didn't work amazingly well when someone was injured in that.
Plus, running in animation, whether 3D or 2D, doesn't work. It REALLY doesn't. Technically, the movements are only the slightest bit wrong, but it really does not work.
Airman HAS to be live-action.
Thankyou for my avvie, Rain! I luv it!!!

I agree. I haven't actually seen the Clone Wars, and I've subconsciously been hesitant to stray from the live action of star wars as well, even if a great deal of it is animated.

yea airman woulden work with airman for one the book is so dramatic and dark. animation would make it unimagiably cheesy, the book would work well with live action, albet with a genouros helping of cgi for the flights. If it is animated i would have doubts about weter of not to watch it. ( thoght we all will anyway and then whine about how much it messed up the book)

I agree with the animation thing, just no. Wrong book for it. As I can see the only good thing that would come from it is that they might actually get charaters that look like the books.

I just finished the book today! It was so frustrating up until the end, but it was so good!
All the stuff where he just kept saying that he wanted to go to America and not see his family again just made me so angry. I just wanted to slap him. Conor Finn, *scowl*.
I actually thought this book was kind of dark (especially compared to AF), but it didn't bother me (except the frustration)
At some points it seriously made me look up from the book and silently curse Bonvilain (or whoever was being frustrating, *coughConorcough*)

They should definitely make a movie of it, and of course it should be live action. I don't see why this would be hard to make live action. They've definitely made harder things. I mean, this is just flying, and that's not hard to do.
Wait, is there any actual news on a movie or something? *is too lazy to read through the entire thread*

oh, also, do you think there will be a sequel to it?

I don't think there'll be a sequel. Even though it was my favourite other EC book by far, I think by the end Mr Colfer had said all he wanted to say (almost like a oneshot. Except novel length) and that that will be it. But if he suddenly got a plot bunny I wouldn't be against it.
I've really been reading too much fanfiction

For me personally I never found Conor irritating. I was slightly annoyed when he wanted to go to America and run away from all his problems but I knew that that wouldn't ever happen. And I didn't find it dark as such, just much more grown up than all the other books he's written.

Yeah, just how he kept saying how he wasn't going to go see his family and he was just going to leave. And every single time he was about to go talk to them, he didn't and he just kept saying how he was leaving. I just wanted to slap him. How he kept saying Conor Broekhart is dead, I was just so angry at Bonvilain for doing this to him.
I want to say that I knew he wouldn't leave, but I honestly felt like he really would.
I still loved it though.

And yeah, there probably won't be a sequel.

I loved Airman...t'is one of the best books I've read! *cannot believe she said "t'is"*

Connor was quite frustrating, yeah, but I didn't really mind. And I loved all the PLOTTING!

well, I'm reading airman now, I stopped right after Conor gets framed for the murdur and his dad comes and he's really upset. now, so far, I crown Airman as the best after AF, but damn it, I just hate Colfer so much for killing Nicolas and Victor so soon, I mean, he hasn't even gotten more than 100 pages, and he's already killing them. WHY DOES COLFER KILL GREAT CHARACTERS IN THE BEGININGS OF BOOKS???????!!!!!!!????????!!!!!!!!???????!!!!!!!!!!!!! :crying2:
Hi people.
I have something very important to tell you.
But now I forgot what it was.
Maybe I'll remember later. who knows.
If I will, I'll be sure to write it. So..... Yeah.

Well... he doesn't really kill off that many characters in AF. I mean, Root in book 4, but other than that, who does he kill off? I can't really think of anyone likable who dies (other than Butler, but that only have counts).

But I agree, it was super sad when Victor died. I love Airman though. It's an awesome book, IMO. I know some disagree, but whatever.

oh, I didn't mean all the time, I ment like in airman. and the wishlist, while were on that topic. also, Colfer killed Vinyaya and everyone on the shuttle. and perhaps someone in TLG, I don't know, I'm only getting it next friday. *pshyced*

anywho, i finnished it now... I was really happy to find out Linus didn't die, i had that suspicion he hadn't, but eventually I lost hope on that, then turned out right, so yay!!
I like the ending, that he goes to universety and all. and that last line about visionaries. it was nice. I've already recommended it to my friend who like Af, my sister who doesn't, and my mom, who never read it... I'm gonna get them to read Airman!

PS- about deaths. I suddenly thought of how when Colfer kills a character, it's still an entire scene, with action and all, unlike a lot of books where characters die natural deaths, die in hundreds at war (so you don't even know when and how exactly they died) or ones that die a more symbolic death (the hero arrives at the scene only to find out one of the characters is gone, and there is only some object that beloged to the character left in the scene.) I really like that.... giving death an entire sequence leading to it, and all that. just somehing I thought about.
