Glitches in Eoin's books

Postby Nikita » Wed Oct 04, 2006 1:01 am

I already found two-

In TEC, Spiro says that Phonetix doesn't even have email. Then, later, he says in regard to Phonetix "That's the last snide email about stock prices I get from them!

In HMI (Half Moon Investigations) during the talent show, Fletcher announces fifth place twice, and proceeds immediately to May Deveraux for seventh.

More to come!

By the way, there is no disrespect intended by this page. Just pointing out stuff. And I also do not mean any offense by the statement "More to come"
Owen: You okay? Want to get a drink or something?
Cristina: Oh. Oh, now we're on again 'cause the mood suits you? Because I'm the sad little girl with no friends and I tripped your savior complex into action? Usually I can deal with the hot and cold thing, but not today. Just leave me the hell alone.

Nope. Artemis said that the R&D department doesn't have email. But the rest of Phonetix could have email.

And on Crim, a forum I come from, we compiled a massive list of plot holes. Unfortnately, the list is a bit messy now, so I can't link it to you.

Some favourites:

Holly and Butler and the troll fall unconscious in the time-stop, Butler doing it twice.

Trouble Kelp chose "Trouble" as his first name on the day he was accepted at the LEP Academy and the day he finished the Academy.

Artemis cracks his knuckles in the first book, but hates doing that in TEC.

AF takes place in the winter (Christmas Day) but there are mentions of cherry blossoms, rhododendrons, and a "fine night."

It says that it's impossible for dwarves to burp, yet Mulch does so in AF and TSD. (And possibly TLC.)

Mulch meets Artemis in TSD, but in TAI a couple months later, he completely forgets who Artemis is.

We know you don't mean offense. Razz But this is in the wrong forum... I'll move it to the section on Eoin Colfer.

Jangrafess- I don't think they tied for fifth, because there was no "and" or "along with" or anythng like that; i think it was just a typo.

Gus- Yes, you were right. Spiro specified that department, but he said nothing in regard to Phonetix as a whole.

Diana- thanks very much for moving it- sorry to cause any trouble.

isn't there a huge list on the site?

i have one for the arctic incident. something only me would notice of course. when artemis gets the video with his dad holding the 'hello son' sign the russian is wrong, basically what he's doing is using the plural to talk to one person. it's like saying 'hello everyone' to one person.

There's one on AFC, but it's not as extensive as the one on Crim... (which is in shorthand and abbreviations and acronyms and basically unintelligble to those who didn't help compile it).

Interesting... (I know absolutely no Russian.)

Cool. What do you think of the Russian Mafiya? Accurate? Exaggerated?

well, i(thankfully) haven't had any experiences with the russian mafya but it sounds pretty accurate. they're pretty rough people. and i especially loved how they called britva the menidjer, it was funny.

hmm..i think in one of the books it says the moonbelt makes you 1/6th of your weight and in another it says 1/5th. or is it just me? because on the moon gravity is 6 times less, not 5, however in book 1 it definately says 1/5th

Yep... it's supposed to be 1/6, and in one book it says 1/5. But the Moonbelt isn't introduced in the first book...

Yeah Izzy's right, the goblins are just goblins in the english version.

Also, trasks?

in TLC, The other Imps tease No 1 by saying that theyh have a better chance of having PINK flowers sprout from their armpits than him warping.

Later, No 1 says that demons don't have a word for pink, and is rather delighted by the discovery.
