I've found grammar and other such errors in the books. The most glaring I've found thus far is the word "genii". It's a word, yeah, but according to a few search engines and my dictionary, the plural of genius is geniuses. Still, these errors aren't as bad in Artemis Fowl as they've been in other books I've read. likeTwilight.

The main thing I notice in these books is continuity errors. Like the age Artemis was when his father disappeared. I'm sure there are others, but that one sticks out.

I found one in the AF graphic novel. When Artemis and Root shake hands, Holly thinks: They shake. Human and elf. An historic moment. An horrible moment.
It's supposed to be A historic moment not An historic moment! And the same for "An horrible moment".

I think it could be 'An historic moment', but I do agree that it should've been 'a horrible moment'.

And the age thing really got to me also. At least we now know at the start of AC he is fifteen.

Maybe where you live the rules are different, but where I live, you only say "an" if the next word begins with a vowel. Like "an apple" or "an igloo". "A" is only used for a consonant.
But maybe the American way is different...

I just remembered: In TLC, Qwan says that the bomb can't be transported because it is an inanimate object. But in TTP, No. 1 says it would be easy to "sneak" the note through. ...There might've been an excuse for that, but I don't have either book on me.

No, that's the American way too. Still, some people could slip because certain words, like "honorable", are preceded by "an". It should be noted that these words have a silent consonant, so the logic of the rule still applies.

Definitely continuity is a huge issue, and Eoin seems to have a hard time sticking to his own canon SOP. For example,

Uh I'm English

But like Elin said, the exception proves the rule. For that one I don't tend to follow any rule, mainly go by ear.

Maybe Holly doesn't pronounce H's. Maybe she pronounces her name as "Olly"

Which would be mildly humorous if it was true. :)

I have found a few flaws, but none that I can think of off-hand right now :/

Wow I had no idea there were so many flaws in the books! Everyone says I always pick up on those things. Odd... LOL
Thanks to Cat Moon & Raineesun for helping me do this XD

You know something I thought of recently when reading the most recent Q&A by Christopher Poalini? How some authors can really think of everything and make minimal contradictions (i.e in the IC) and others (like EC) just go on changing things as they go, and how I really don't care about it. As long as they're minimal little things, such as grammer and a few small contradictions it really doesn't change how much you enjoy the book itself.
But I guess it's also nice when you can over-anaylze everything an author says becuase you know it's going to have some sort of importance.

Ohhhh! That's exactly what I do! What really annoys me is when you figure something out for yourself and there's no big surprise at the end of the book. That happened to me at school on Friday. It just clicked and all of a sudden I understood everything. Then, when I reached the ending of my book, it held no surprise for me at all. :(

That mainly happens for me in crime/mystery books. I hate it when it's too easy, and your sitting there thinking 'It was the cheerleader. . .Why is it always the cheerleader?'

But they've been so many clues in Brisingr that I can't get my head around. Like the pain in his gut Eragon felt when he got the brightsteel from the menoe tree. Or how Murtagh accesed the eldurnari's power from Thorn. Or how the two travellar people come into it all.
Alright wrong website. But I still have no clue
