I think U.S. is good, but its economy is becoming low. But if we're talking about Artemis Fowl's development, U.S.A would be better than U.K. obviously... Hollywood stars are more popular than that of U.K. stars. And, visiting Artemis Fowl's website in U.S.A. address is better than U.K.'s site.. that's just my opinion... Although Artemis Fowl's setting is mainly in Europe :P

Really? Personally I seem to come across far more celebrities from the UK than from the US.

I suppose it depends where, but generally american stars are more famous and successful than british ones... same goes for musicians (smaller difference though), T.V. shows, ect.
Hi people.
I have something very important to tell you.
But now I forgot what it was.
Maybe I'll remember later. who knows.
If I will, I'll be sure to write it. So..... Yeah.

I think the UK has better history, and they have Stratford-Upon Avon! (Big Shakespeare nerd here).
I've lived in the US, and personally the coolest part of it is Hawaii, which isn't much.
I'd rather vacation in the UK, but shop in the US.

Perhaps it's just my frame of reference that has more British actors. I know I can name more British ones than American, anyway.

I think what she means is that U.S. stars are more "global" than U.K. stars. If you go to any country in the world and ask some to name some stars from the U.S. and U.K. they'll be more likely to name more stars from U.S. than the U.K. I could be wrong in interpretation of what they had to say, but that's what cam across to me.

Unless the person you're talking to is a Harry Potter nerd like myself, afcutie :) Then you get a long list of British actors!

Yes, but you also have to think about the other countless actors/actresses from other TV shows and movies.

um.. AFcutie, yes, that is pretty much what I meant..
and yes- HP made some brittish stars famous, but then again- if you look at one of those idiotic gossip celebrity news shows/paper/websites, most of them are american. generally, I think Hollywood is a very big part of the US tradition and Ethos, where as UK isn't that nuch about TV in collective mentality...
