Old, old news. Lawrence Gutterman
was the director, but not anymore.
According to
Mesmerised, "a new one has been hired and although they cannot yet be named '
you'd know the name if I said it'."
AFC says: "Oscar winning director Jim Sheridan and Simon Carmody are working on the screenplay." Matt received an email from Colfer, saying:
Regarding various developments - the movie is going ahead quickly now - I worked on a treatment for the story with Oscar winning director Jim Sheridan and writer Simon Carmody and Jim is now working on the screenplay. The story is mainly the first book but with a few huge surprises. If Hollywood tells you to do whatever you want... well I couldn't turn that offer down, so expect new adventures.
And from the most recent exclusive AFC interview...Eoin Colfer wrote:I have been working intermittently on the screenplay for the past year with Jim Sheridan the Irish director. We have kept the heart of books one and two but I also wanted to do something cinematic and spectacular so we added a big exciting ending. No new characters but plenty of new one liners. I really love the story and we hope to go into production this Summer. No cast yet.
