Would a movie really work?

The Artemis Fowl Movie is coming... On the 26th July 2013, Disney, in association with Harvey Weinstein, announced that a movie covering the events of the first two books was finally in the works!

Yeah - but we true fans will stand firm and not hesitate to point out that "Hey, the book was better!"
But hopefully the movie will get people reading the books.

Maybe. But there are so many people who saw Harry Potter and did not read the books, so...

Yeah. *Cringe* I'd feel guilty if I watched the movie of a book I'd never read!
My little brother's best friend is reenacting scenes from the Percy Jackson movie all the time, and I just want to turn to him and say, "That isn't the way it actually is!" But at least the HP movies were true to the books for the most part.

For the most part, yeah...but that's who I'm not going to see the Hunger Games. I never read it. I might read it sometime soon, but until then, I'm not seeing that movie.

I guess there are actually two of us weirdos who haven't read the book of seen the movie :D
I'm not sure if I'll read the books- if I want something that's violent and sort of depressing, I'm going to go with classic instead of dystioian.

As much as i would like to see a movie come out, i hope for us fan's sake that they just don't. They could [i]never[i] pick correct actors to portray anyone how they should be portrayed.

Well I believe they can pick correct or at least somewhat decent actors if there ever is a movie but the probem is everyone depicks each character differently. Like for me I always pictured bulter wih no hair but in the graphic novals bulter is pictured with having blonde hair like his little sister Juliet. And the last thing I heard about the Artemis Fowl movie was that Disney would be creating it if anything and it won't have actors but be cartoons -_-. However I'm not sure if thats right or not, (for me I hope that is a complete rumor).

yeah..... Lots of people still watch movies even if they don;t read the book. like twilight....
Anyways it's taking SOOO long for this to come.
I'm growing old here. Literally.
by the way, there should be these fans all over the planet. I guess many people read AF.
I saw a korean version of AF on the internet. Maybe there are fans in asia and africa too.
I had to translate the stuff to english to understand it.
Anyways you get the point.....
