Of course that I am willing admit that it would be bad. I disliked Darren Shan Movie even though it worked similiary like I said now. Changes maked sense though. I didn't like PJ nor Dragon ball. It is difficult find adaptation I would like. But If I think about that it is better solution than change plot completely or give Artemis good points by turning him in desperate Emo tragic hero who take wrong path to save his parents (second possibility I though).

Did Eoin say that this is how he wanted to do it?

I guess if he was there working on it, and he was the one combining it, it has the potential to work, but still, why would he want them to do it that way? That's just stupid. They'd get more money by doing it separately, and it would make fans a lot happier.

combining isn't rare for movies which aren't suposed be blockbuster, but may be popular among fans. So there isn't big expetation for it and we have to hope that Colfer make it realy good instead of their staff.

I think Eoin did say something about merging them. And actually, if it was done in two parts like the last Harry Potter or something, I don't see what would be so bad about that. I mean, I would hate for it to be all crammed in a 1 1/2 hour movie to the exclusion of a lot of the good stuff, but I do think Tenzen has a point. The transition from evil to good should be emphasized, especially if they are only thinking of making one movie and do not want to commit to a whole series like HP. Although a whole series would be absolutely AWESOME!!

Umm...making it a two part movie is called making each book their own movie! Unless you're saying that they make the whole series into a two-part movie, and that is just completely and utterly ridiculous.

That's really sad because all when books like Twilight get the most attention in the world other books that are actually good don't get the time of day. It's so irritating.

Hang Twilight! it got all that attention because it had this perfect guy and this girl and love rained! I always say that Stephenie Meyer didn't bother to make a personality for Edward, so she just made him perfect. I'm a writer, and creating a personality is very hard. Cheater...

The whole series couldn't be contained in two movies! NOO! Maybe the first three (only MAYBE), because I think there is a break in the story. Even though, creating a individual movie for each is still the best option

hehe - I second that: Hang Twilight! I am a writer as well and I detest perfect main characters. It is very difficult to create a character that is both loveable and believeable, I agree. I usually end up going for the gruff types hiding the soft heart, so they are not perfect but they could be if they tried. Either that or the clowning-around-best-friend who is always my favorite in any given situation ;P

I don't think we're talking about the whole series being made into two movies - that would be a really bad move. I know at least I was saying that the first two books should be combined into one really long movie, if that's possible, simply because the character progression for Artemis is so perfectly subtle and traditionally movie from the beginning of book one to the end of book two. But I would still prefer one book per movie, and let them get as popular as HP ;P

In my own opinion, a movie would work, if and only if it does not change our imagination, and interpreting of the story.

I think that the movie coouuullllllddddd work it would have to depend on a few things...
1.) They would have to be able to show and explain Artemis' thought prosses, if you have read the books you soon realize that he doesn't really talk a lot (expecially about people),most of the time he is just observeing or thinking.
2.) They can't cut to much out of the movie, the viewers have to be able to think about what's going to happen without showing to much and revealing everything ( if the viewers know what is going to happen next every time they do something the movie will get boring and monotnos)
3.) They need to find an actor who really fits Artemis' personality i.e. if they would cast Robert Pattinson (God forbid) as Artemis the movie would plummet for A.F. fans but go would sky high for twilight fans

Believe me, if there was even a five-minute short, we'd know about it here, and there would be a whole new section on it...
