This should be in the movies forum so I'll shift it there for you. It would be better if you post it in the thread under that name that is already in the Movie forum.

lol, I also signed up on this forum today, mulchdiggums ^^ something we have in common..

I like your ideal cast, but there's a few things I've got doubts about:
1. Isn't Freddie Highmore too 'cute' to play a criminal mastermind?
2. Do you really think Foaly should be completely computer-created? No actor at all?

Jason Isaacs would be wonderful as Artemis Fowl Sr. Very Happy

Aikin can't act, much less act well!
Tom? He's good at playing Malfoy, but he is not ideal
for the job.

I think Liam Aiken might be good. The tough part is deciding who plays the part of Holly. I really don't think Halle is a good idea.

Liam Aiken was born in 1990 according to the IMDB, making him 17 this year, which is too old. Freddie Highmore was born in 1992, and so will be 15, also too old.
Let's face it, most well-known child actors aren't children any more. We remember children's faces on the screen, but time marches on for the actors, and an actor who became recognisable as a 11 or 12 year old in a 2002 movie is now 15 or 16, far too old to portray a 12-year-old now.
For an AF movie done this year, we'd need somebody born in 1995 (or perhaps earlier if they plan to film the whole series, since Artemis had late puberty, and an actor with a broken voice and facial hair twittering on about recently discovering sexual desire would be rather silly), and looking through the IMDB list of actors born that year, I didn't recognise a single name. Most of the names I did click on had done bit parts in episodes of television shows.

Aha! Keira Knightley as a villian. *ponders* I must admit that would be interesting. I think Keira Knightley's pretty so I wonder how it would turn out if she were Opal.

I actually went with Liam Aiken as Artemis aswell. If he's much too old then maybe not anymore now.

Um, Kiera Knightly hangs her mouth open too much. I couldn't see Opal doing that.

Yeah, she does, but presumably the director could instruct her to keep it closed. It's not a physical disability of hers, afaik - just absent-mindedness.

Ahaha, yeah. I'm surprise you brought that up actually. In many of the pictures I see of Keira Knightley, the mouth-dropping-open thing has been the case. XD

personally i think that Holly should be played by a n unknown not halle berry..shes a bit old...and the freddie boy for Artemis, he's too cute for that job unfortunatly...i can't actually think of any good Artemis'...Nicholas Hoult was good but too old now...and i think Foaly should be done like in HP and Narnia

Jason Issacs would be perfect for Artemis Sr

WHA?! Emma Watson for Minerva...are you crazy?! and she's meant to be younger than Artemis not 17+

Truth hurts, but that's what it is. *sigh*
But Liam Aiken, Skandar Keynes and Nicholas Hoult. But I guess it will have to be an unknown.

NEVER! That would be horrible. Tim Oliphant is better.

I don't think he really fits in the Trouble role. Don't ask me why.

NEVER! She cannot play someone evil. I cannot imagine that.

But your other suggetions are good.

Eugh, Keira Knightley annoys me. I would hate to see her as Opal. And she doesn't really look like Opal...*shrugs*
