Anyone a fan of Doctor Who? (SPOILERS FOR NEW EPISODES)

Postby Venom Wolf » Mon Apr 02, 2007 7:09 am

I'm just wondering if anyone likes this show. The plot may be a bit cheesy sometimes, but I still enjoy it!

I wouldn't call myself a fan, but I do watch and enjoy it... I love watching the older series, the pure cheesiness and the terrible acting and special effects amuse me.

Dr Who is a great show, the new series is really good and yeah, the old series is fun to watch because of the old special effects and stuff (spot the strings!).

If you've seen Planet of the Spyers, you'll understand the true meaning of cheesy effects!

<3 old Dr Who.

But the new one's cool. Love David Tennant!

David Tennant = <3s

Old special effects; my parents (well my dad) watch alot of old sci-fi tv series and movies and stuff and some of the effects are really... bad. My dad watched the
Day of the Triffids, and it was about flesh eating plants that were meant to be extremely dangerous but they looked so unstable and patheric that it looked like you could walk up and push it over.
Of course no one did in the show. =P

Doctor Who is awesome. The one way the English beat everyone else is with Doctor Who- it may take months to get any American show but Doctor Who is British which means the tables are turned.

New Series started last saturday and its good.

Sorry for the lack of poetic description- I'm at school and it drains creativity.

Watch it on CBC whenever the bastards decide to play a new episode... Which is hardly ever.

Couse I like Doctor Who, it's amazing after all. (then again, I watch Bristh shows whenever I can Very Happy ) It's one of those shows where everyone can have a different favorite but still be in an agreement that the show's great.
It's time I've started coming back here more often.

Who's your favourite then?

I'm not really sure... I sort of like all of them exept Paul McGann...That movie was weird and unneeded... (and I have it on tape Shocked)

I'd say Christopher Eccleston (though i haven't seen any pre-him).
I like him and David Tennant and they have different energies but i just prefer what Eccleston brught to the role- something slightly more alien and full of life I feel.

I REALLY don't want to seem to be mean or anything, but could people please stop mentioning David Tennant? I can't stop thinking about the third season... (which is sad 'cause I'm [along with most american fans] not able to see it yet, unless it's on You Tube...)

Anyway, my favorites (scince I didn't really mention them...) would have to be William Hartnell, Tom Baker, Peter Davison, and David Tennant (of course), but I have favorite episodes with all of the various actors.

Sorry if this is a spoiler but the Deathly Hollows line that Jangra mentioned (not at all relevant to any plot ever) is awesome- though if America doesn't get Season 3 until August or whenever it'll take a new level of irony.

Awesome i resaw the final 2 episodes the other day and waitaminute i only resaw the second to last episode which means i still have Episode 13 to resee (is that even a word? resee, resaw- the english language doesn't know whats hitting it!!).

The whole concept of Torchwood (utterly altered and mulitalated in an OK way in the spin off series which if you haven't seen it don't its nowhere as good as Doctor Who) was awesome and the final episodes just work as epics.
