The title of the thread is BEIJING OLYMPICS not OLYMPICS OPENING CEREMONY.
High strung!

But yeah, I haven't seen one event. Time and timings are bad.
No it's totally my fault that I can't fit the Olympics to your timezone, and therefore allow you to contribute with thread-appropriate content.

I can't believe Phelps would be 8 million richer if he was from here, because our government would award whoever wins a gold with 1 million. Haha. What we did get though, was a Silver for Table tennis.

I have this crazy obsession with Phelps. He is like a fish man in the water! Wow.

I've realised the team GB do better in sports whichrequire them to sit down :P

Ahh, the Olympics. They're pretty good, though I haven't seen too much more than a couple snatches of gymnastics, the guy's volleyball, and the synchronized diving. I love the Chinese pair for the women's diving; they work so well together, it's beautiful.

Of course it's your fault. It's always your fault.

I like your Government. We had a hopeful in boxing but he lost today. Michael Phelps alone has as many medals as India... which has billion people.

Bah. :P

MICHAEL PHELPS

He did it! One million from Speedo, eight gold medals in Beijing, fourteen total, ten of which were individual...

It was so close... unbelievable.
OMG. I know! I thought for sure that Australia was gonna win! Phelps is unbelievable. Makes me wonder if he's still human.

Nadal won! I knew it!~ What a disappointment for Federer, though. I thought for sure that he'd be the one against Nadal in the finals. T.T But hooray for James Blake for defeating Federer! I don't think anybody expected that. Lol.

The Williams sisters don't seem to be playing their best either. Or maybe the other tennis players really are just better. :)

Omg a reply without any reference to the opening ceremony!! W-o-w

I'm sick of hearing about Michael Phelps someone on the internet put it best when they said "Being the fastest at swimming is only useful when you're outswimming a shark."

Unfortunately, creating a thread doesn't imply its sole aim is pleasing you.

And really, there isn't any point to the Olympics. So don't look for a point in Michael Phelps being able to swim the fastest.

I've read so many threads on the Internet that either Pretty pink butterflies about the host country or praise Michael Phelps to the high heavens. It gets old, and those things are beside the point.

There isn't any point to it except for the part where all the countries come together and play sports. I personally love watching some really obscure athlete from one of the less major countries do his country proud by winning. Not when it's made out to be some USA vs China/France/etc event.

This is the thread on the BEIJING OLYMPICS, not on the RELEVANCE OF OLYMPICS IN GENERAL.

Sorry, I have no will power. >_<

What? No other Olympics has that much drama it's obvious I was talking about the Beijing Olympics.

It's ending on Sunday I can't wait!!

I have a weird habit - when I watch the Olympics I try guess to everyone's sexual orientation.
