I'll have to disagree with that. If anything the sprawling, dynamics and feeling weren't really unrestrained until the romantic period. Classical music focuses a lot on structure and the development of themes and motifs is usually very intricate. There's a lot more to classical music than people give it credit for.Classical music tends to be sprawling and dynamic with no interest in anything other than pure feeling.
