I did the same thing! But the coincidentally my parents bought me the Artemis Fowl Files the next day...and well the translation is in it, as everybody well knows.I figured out the Gnommish alphabet by comparing the page in the 1st book to its translation. But then I relized it was on the internet!! I was just wondering...
Dude, where'd you get the Gnommish font? I WANT THAT!!! Seriously, I know how to translate and write it, but I wanna learn to type it and send it to my AF friend (who STILL can't read Gnommish, so yeah . . . XD)I haven't read the AFF, but there was a key at the end of TAC for me I sorta memorized it, I s'pose, but I think i've forgotten most of it by now....hmmm. I'm gonna re read the series in April 2011, along with this whole other list of books :p so I think I'll refresh my memory then. But I don't think i've forgotten too much of it, I can probably still decipher it.
Who has Gnommish in their MS Word fonts?
Anyone else as weird as me?
I've lost the ability to read it, but I can work it out fast without writing it down. I spent hours when I was about eight translating the first book, and I wrote it down. When I was bored a couple of years ago I wrote them all down in my neatest handwriting (which, when I look at it now, is messy as anything), and put it in my desk.
I think you can get the font on word through Colfer Confidential, but I'm not sure. I think it was in the "downloads" section.
